![]() (Posted on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 01:22 p.m.) Last week, the roster for this New Year's Eve's NHK Kouhaku (a.k.a. the Red-White Song Fest). But I'll talk about this next year. For now... On last Wednesday, The Amazing Race went from Iceland to Norway. Once there, the teams headed to a ski jump RoadBlock. Since it was summer, they did the summer alternative: zipping through a flying fox. After that, they spent the night at a Viking Village. The next day, the teams were divided into two boats and raced across a fjord. After that, they took a train to Voss, where they did a Speed-Accuracy Detour. While most teams opted for the Speed-required roller skis, they decided to finish at the Accuracy-needed Viking games. Though Freddy & Kendra had a time penalty for getting a second clue instead finding their lost one, Meredith & Maria were the ones eliminated. Here's the leaderboard as of the end of last Wednesday's episode:
Where to next? I don't know. But we'll see next Wednesday. On last Friday's episode of Survivor: Vanuatu, after Chad the traitor was voted off, Chris, the only guy left, saw a gap among the girls. Because Eliza was again the target. The next day, Eliza won an online chat with her Mom. Or should we say, an overnight offline personal chat with her Mom because she's at site. Everybody also got to meet Twila's son, Scout's life partner, Ami's friend, LeAnn's friend, Julie's boyfriend, and Chris's fiancée. But it's Eliza who got to talk to her Mom more. Two days later, those loved one's came back and teamed with their Survivors for the Immunity Challenge. Ami and friend won and gave Ami immunity. Back at camp, Julie told Chris that he wouldn't be voted off. The girls convened that Eliza would be voted off. So to be sure, he talked to Eliza and conspired to have LeAnn off instead. He even talked to the swingers Twila and Scout to sway with them. Sure enough on Tribal Council, in a surprising upset, Eliza, and the swingers broke away from the three other women and joined Chris to vote off LeAnn. Is Chris's plan working? Or is the swingers just bluffing? This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Millefeuille suddenly becomes a ghost. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at 11:44 a.m.) On last Wednesday, The Amazing Race finally started at Chicago. Once again, 11 teams made up this edition's roster. Among them are Lori & Bolo, Don & Mary Jean, and Gus & Hera. The first leg took place at Iceland, glaciers and all. Because of the bad weather heading out of the US, delays abound in the connections. Once in Iceland, they had to find a little-known waterfall, so little-known some of the teams got lost finding it. Then, the teams went to the Vatnujokull Glacier and spent the night. The next day, they made their way to the Ice Climb-Ice Search Detour. Most chose to climb a glacier, but three teams went the other way to find a buoy among a multitude of glaciers. On the way to the Pit Stop was a chore, especially for Bolo and Jonathan, but in the end, because they went to the wrong part of the Blue Lagoon, Avi & Joe, the only male team in the Race were eliminated. Here's the leaderboard as of the end of last Wednesday's episode:
Where to next? I don't know. But we'll see next Wednesday. Last Friday, I had two CDs burned outside. One audio CD and one data one (containing WMV episodes of Mermaid Melody). I had to take advantage of the promo where one can surf for four hour for the price of surfing for two. But luckily, I had what I wanted to burn on those two CDs with some time to spare. I came home in time for the satellite broadcast of Survivor: Vanuatu. Speaking of which.... On last Friday's episode of Survivor: Vanuatu, after Chad the traitor had to vote off Sarge, we know he and Chris were on the chopping block. So they talked to Scout about changing everything. At the reward challenge, where one becomes the sacrificial lamb and the others help that lamb get across, Team Guys-and-Gals (Chris, Chad, Ami, and LeAnn) beat Team All-Gals (Julie, Eliza, Twila, and Scout), sending them and the tribe pig to a Vanuatuan village. At the village gathering, Team Guys-and Gals were met by the natives with open arms. They danced and sang with them. Chad even got drunk that he slept early. Rain poured, making the atmosphere of the party bleak, but the team and the natives had a great time. Back at camp, the atmosphere was even bleaker when the shelter got some leaks. And that was what the Team Guys-and-Gals saw when they went returned. Noticing that Eliza was on the chopping block, the boys exploited the possibility of her eviction. At the immunity challenge where one had to hold on to a pole without touching the ground, everybody else fell to the wayside. While Chad slipped closer to the ground, Twila bit the ropes. Chad touched the ground giving Twila immunity. Chris and Chad tried to exploit the possibility of Eliza's eviction more by interviewing the girls. But in the end, Chad got the boot at Tribal Council. Now Chris, being the only guy left in the game, has to do something before he gets evicted too, giving an all-female Final Six. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Forte and Mint taking their rest for their sit-ups. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 10:25 a.m.) On last Friday's primetime episode of Survivor: Vanuatu, Sarge knew that the numbers were down for the men, and he knew it. He even reacted sarcastically as to why Julie and Twila betrayed them and the support the girls of Alinta were having on each other. In the reward challenge, it was an elimination where questions are asked about Vanuatu. The guys were first hit. In the end, with the selective with the elimination process, the all came down to who has more unaffected skulls. And that was LeAnn. She took Julie with her on a helicopter ride and onto a picnic in a dormant volcano with some wine and buffalo wings. At the picnic, LeAnn and Julie talked strategy for the first time and take out the boys early on. While waiting for LeAnn and Julie, the guys tried to look any weak points in the all-women alliance, and think that the rift between Eliza and Scout would be that crack. LeAnn and Julie came and share the extra wings with only the women. The men were left with the bones. The next day, Julie got a pig. Twila and Sarge want to eat it, but the message strictly said that it is a pet and they must take care of it; they can't eat it. Sarge felt down about it (he was looking forward for porkchop.) In the immunity challenge, the men got their puzzles wrong the first time, and it became a female free-for-all. Mistakes and pressure eliminated the women further until Ami remained to win immunity. It seemed that in Tribal Council, Chad adopted something unthinkable for the boys: "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." So he joined the girls in voting out Sarge! Chad you traitor. Tomorrow, Amazing Race 6 will finally start! I don't know which team I'll cheer for yet but I there are many choices. I REALLY can't wait! But what I want to know is what took it so long? It was supposed to start at first immediately after the fifth installment, and then last October, but why tomorrow? Oh, well. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Forte: "Is that Survivor Radio?" Oops! Wrong station. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at 11:56 a.m.) On last Friday's primetime episode of Survivor: Vanuatu, Julie and Twila dragged Sarge Lea into their game, and while Julie showed her naked self, Sarge showed his butt! Over at Yasur, Rory saw that he and Scout were the only ones working. That gave his ire, and vowed to vote one of them out once returning to the men of Lopevi. The reward challenge where water have to be passed, Chris and Chad managed to work together to pass only water and overtook the Yasur tribe to win some dessert. LET THEM EAT CAKE. Next day, another twist came: Lopevi and Yasur merged into one orange-clad tribe. It's then onto the immunity challenge, where one has to swim from platform to shore to get flags. In the final round, Rory and Ami tried to get the lead, but Sarge was simply strong, and he won immunity. Back at camp, it was party time, and all castaways celebrate the merge. The next day, the flag was made and the new tribe was named the fiery Alinta. After that, it was all scheming. Twila and Julie were torn on which side they go: the women or the men. But in the end, the battle became one of gender. All women voted against my fave Rory and he was eliminated. Take a look at this: ![]() This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Ghost soldier: "Chief, two of us are missing. Let's find them!" Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at 07:34 p.m.) On last Sunday's primetime episode of Survivor: Vanuatu (there was a blackout which is why I didn't watch last Friday's live feed episode), Rory was once again seen himself in the chopping block among the girls of Yasur. Meanwhile, Sarge noticed that Killjoy John (a.k.a. John K.) was not working much. But Killjoy John had some plots against disabled Chad. On the reward challenge, each tribe member would deliver some coconut juice through an obstacle course and through a bottle and bring the bottle back to the tribe. LeAnn almost lost the bottle, but not much was spilled and Yasur won the challenge. The prize: some coffee, and some memoirs from home, not mention a coffee maker and some mugs to take home at camp. And Yasur savored every moment. Back at Lopevi, Twila and Julie conspired because Sarge told each of them the same thing: to be kept at the final four with him. At the immunity challenge, where each tribe had to break every single tile to win, Rory dominated the challenge, and thanks to him, he would still stay on Vanuatu. Hours at tribal council, Killjoy John tried to convince the others to vote against Chad because of the potential sympathy votes, which he doesn't want to see. But Killjoy John failed and got the boot. This coming Friday: Sarge joins in the girls' fun at Lopevi, the Yasur girls' work ethic earned Rory's ire... and just as the two tribes think they are about to merge, the Survivor Twist Machine strikes again (I bet it's Vanuatu's answer to the Pearl Islands' Hey Ya dancers. Get it? Outkasts? Hey Ya?). Almost a month ago, I'm waiting for the Amazing Race 6 to start. I don't know what caused the delay, but finally on November 17, The Amazing Race 6 will finally start. I'll check out which will be my bet later on. The list of winning teams is already long: Rob & Brennan, Chris & Alex, Flo & Zach (I hate 'em), the gays Reichen & Chip, and Chip & Kim (my first favorite team to win). Who'll follow them, we'll find out! I managed to surf the net when I'm supposed to be offline last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Unfortunately for me, the internet connection at the place where I surfed was a tad too slow—even slower than the dial-up connection that I often used. Just to do my bit at the Mother Symphony Forums, it took me two and a half hours to download the Japanese support pack and restart the computer. So I'm happy and I'm posting this using my laptop and my own modem. After all, I'm supposed to be offline while on vacation. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Lanhua and Forte laugh all they want, not noticing the the giant wave that's about to kill them. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at 11:02 a.m.) On last Friday's episode of Survivor: Vanuatu, Rory, being the only guy left in the Yasur tribe, knew he was on the chopping block. (I forgot to say at the last post, Bubba sent a secret message to his former Lopevi tribemates that Ami managed to decipher, leading Bubba out the door.) So Rory did a speech telling the ladies to even spare him. Rory could not even believe he said it! In the reward challenge, the tribes heard pigs (a treasure in Vanuatu) on the mud so they could win some steaks. Both tribes did their best, but Lopevi was very far ahead, winning the challenge. While the Lopevi tribe feasted on the steaks, the Yasurs were laying the blame on Eliza because they thought she did not even touch a pig. I don't know what happened on Day 14, but on Day 15, Julie decided to strip just to sunbathe, turning some of the Lopevi men on. Meanwhile, Twila became a great use to the Lopevi tribe. Even Sarge convinced her to be his ally to the end. On the immunity challenge, four tribe members will each swim with two pieces of a tiki through an obstacle course. Once all eight pieces were at land, the remaining two would form the tiki and win immunity. Both tribes did good, even Rory got even close to Sarge's lead, but LeAnn was killing Yasur's chances and for the second straight time, Lopevi won immunity. After that, there was clamor if Rory would really be voted off. But at the end, the girls betrayed each other and ended voting off the traitor Lisa. This coming Friday: the girls of Lopevi conspire, and Rory convinces his female tribemates more. And speaking of Survivor... Guess who came to the Philippines over the weekend: ![]() I was cheering for the New York Yankees. And I was very disappointed when they didn't win the American League Championship and a ticket to the World Series. But for the Boston Red Sox, it's a chance of a lifetime; it's a long time since they've been on the World Series, let alone have won it. The only team on their path is the St. Louis Cardinals. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that the spirit of Babe Ruth returns to the Boston Sox and win it after 86 years (now that's a long drought). From October 29 to the afternoon of November 2, I'll be out on vacation. And unless there is internet access (Japanese text support and Real Player) somewhere near where would I stay, I'll be offline during that time. I've already told my new friends at Mother Symphony Forums about it because I post the episode synopses and teasers of Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure there. I knew they'll understand me. I'll catch up as soon as I return. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: While walking at the beach, looks like at least one of our girls just stepped on a land mine. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Monday, October 18, 2004 at 05:10 p.m.) Last Monday was a bad day for me. First I forgot to shave at home when I should've. Then I forgot to bring my umbrella (like I always do whenever I go to a far place). Then after that, after taking my modular exam, I found out I didn't pass after six days of abstractor training! And I never knew why. The last few days saw me waiting my notification on when I would get my training allowance for my first week. I never got the notification, but I went to the place where I underwent my training, and got the allowance anyway. I'll get the allowance for last Monday later this week. At least for me, something good came out. I can now watch what I will miss if my training went beyond last Monday. The day after that bad day was a good day for me as an anime fan; I finally got to watch the much-hyped GetBackers and Ragnarok the Animation. And those shows are good. As for my job-hunting exploits, it's back to the old drawing board. Of course, I didn't post my recap last Sunday's Survivor: Vanuatu and I didn't remember what happened on that episode. All I remember is that of a communication breakdown among Lopevi boys in the immunity challenge. And because of that, they have to vote out Brady on a very backstabbing vote. And that still continued on Day 11 on last Friday's episode. The natives, in a language only the native themselves understand, told the Lopevi boys to choose their chief. Appropriately enough, Sarge got the role. Scout was crowned among the Yasur girls because she's the oldest. After that, the earthquake hit. And not even I expected that! Before the reward challenge began, the reason why the chiefs were chosen was revealed: IT'S SWITCHIN' TIME! Scout put Rory, Eliza, Bubba, Ami, and LeAnn on Group A, and Killjoy John, Chad, Julie, Twila, and Chris on Group B. Sarge picked Group B as the new Lopevi. (Scout and Group A became the new Yasur.) Lisa, the odd woman out chose to stay on Yasur. On a very deep reward challenge, the race was neck-to-neck. But because the depths each survivor would diver went deeper, it became harder to pull out the markers (especially on the pressure). In the end, Lopevi won the Pringles and beer because Ami could get Yasur's last marker. With their new tribes, Rory and Bubba noticed that the girls of Yasur were still trying to lock themselves together, while at the waterfall, tomboy Twila finally fit in with the her kind of crowd. At the immunity challenge, Rory took a long time with untying the knots to his new tribes boat. Worse, Ami and Bubbe went the wrong way! Because of that, Troop Lopevi (and their two new female recruits) won immunity. Remember that I mentioned that the women of Yasur decided to stick together? That was apparent on Tribal Council because either one of the two boys would go home, considering the unity of the girls. But it was Bubba who got the boot. I hope that's the last of him and his Bob Barker t-shirt. Next week, Rory makes some stupid remarks to his female tribemates, and cannot believe he did so. And Julie strips at Lopevi. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: An eyewitness account of how Vanilla lost... uh... something... as caught by security camera. Note: I know Galaxy Angels will be shown on Animax, which is still bad for me. My cable channel line-up still doesn't include Animax. This past week for me, to make up for this, WOWOW has a new anime show called Grenaider last Thursday (and I'll follow if on the following weeks) and HBO Asia aired Cowboy Bebop: Knocking on Heaven's Door just last night (the second anime movie ever aired on HBO Asia, the first being Samurai X: The Movie). Ja ne wa! (Posted on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at 08:12 p.m.) Currently, I'm training for my new job as a abstractor for a BPO company. It is someone who makes abstracts of real estate contracts. My training schedule would derive me from watching live feeds of Survivor at the afternoon and be online on afternoons. I only go online at weeknights. But I'll still surf on Saturdays the way I used to. But I'll also surf on Sundays just in case my pesky brother brings my laptop along just to finish his project. I just wish he stop changing my laptop's wallpaper. Speaking of Survivor... At Lopevi, Sergeant Lea cannot believe Rory wasn't working along with the tribe. At Yasur, the women the age gap becomes wider as Mia argue with tomboy Twila. The challenge would have some side effects. Both tribes would go tribal council where each tribe would vote out one of their own—all at the same night. So aside from the fishing gear, individual immunity for the winner from that Tribe. So while the women were struggling with getting their keys, the Lopevi men, breezed their way to victory. At the individual immunity challenge (which came way too early for edition), my bet Chad the amputee led, it was John K. who won. He not only won immunity, he got to hang out with the girls just choose his counterpart In the big divide on both sides, the Lopevis voted out John P. (a.k.a. JP). Later John K. gave his immunity to Ami because she's not going home anyway. Between Mia and Twila, Mia got the ax. Guiness tidbit (2004): Most base hits in an MLB season The most base hits in a Major League Baseball season is 257 by George Sisler (USA) playing for the St. Louis Browns in 1920.I already posted this but as of last Saturday, Ichiro finally broke that record and hit four more to give himself a final total of 262 base hits in a season. Too bad his team, the Seattle Mariners, did not make the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, the sixth edition of The Amazing Race was supposed to be shown last Sunday. I don't know what happened, but its premiere was postponed indefinitely. But I'm still waiting, even as if this would take until maybe next month or next year. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shots: Millefeuille is happy because Ichiro got base hit number 258. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Friday, October 1, 2004 at 08:51 a.m.) In last Wednesday's Amazing Race, the four teams vie for one million dollars by first flying into El Nido in another part of the Philippines. They first went finding the island with the Philippine flag on it (the other two had the flags of the Czech Republic and Equatorial Guinea) before snorkeling for giant clams. Once at Lagen Wall, Brandon, Chip, and later Karen ascended up the wall. As Brandon and Chip finished their ascents, Karen was so tired, Colin beat her. She and Linda were eliminated. Here is the leaderboard at the end of the El Nido leg:
While on Calgary, Chip & Kim dress up as Colin & Christe and Brandon & Nicole went up to the Continental Divide. Colin & Christie SLID (on a luge) in the Detour, while Nicole sobbed so much while RIDE-ing (bikes), Brandon had no choice but to SLIDE with her. Chip's weight msut've caused some mishaps as he and Kim slid on a luge, they pulled through. On their way to Dallas, although Colin already hired a driver to pick them up when they arrive there, the flight became the big factor. Chip & Kim got a better flight (because the Colin & Christie and Brandon & Nicole booked a flight that was eventually delayed). While in Denver, the two other teams tried to change flights just to be with Chip & Kim, but FAA regulations don't let them leave their separate bags behind on the plane they just checked in! So the battle in Dallas became a match between Chip & Kim (who had an earlier flight) and Colin & Christie (who had a driver to pick them up). But amidst going through a maze and fighting Friday traffic, CHIP & KIM WON THE RACE!!!!!!!!!!! This is the first time a team I'm rooting for (among the final three) won! Team Guido never made it to New York, Blake & Paige were too slow, and Teri & Ian were beaten to the Finish Line by Flo & Zach. And I didn't root for either the Gays (Reichen & Chip), the Idiots (Kelly & Jon), or the Goats (David & Jeff). I'm so happy Chip & Kim won because though I don't like the two other teams for various reasons, especially Colin's tantrums. Here is the final leaderboard:
The Fifth Amazing Race may be over, but I don't have to wait long, because the Sixth Amazing Race starts this weekend. But how would AXN South East Asia handle this is another story. I didn't make to last Friday's telecast of Survivor: Vanuatu, so I have to watch last Sunday's primetime telecast. In that episode the men (Lopevi) tried to set some fire, but to success. The women (Yasur) broke down. In the balancing reward challenge, where pillows and mattresses were up for grabs, the women won while the men didn't stand the chance. Like the men, the women's alliances were separated by age, with Dolly at the middle (because this young gal sided with the older women). But in the immunity challenge, a forgotten pair of pieces enabled the men to forge ahead and win immunity (and their piece of flint). At Tribal Council, it seemed that LeAnn would get the boot, but it was the middle girl, Dolly the Sheep-shearer was the one who got the boot. On this afternoon's episode, hostilities on both sides heat up, and Jeff Probst announces that a Lopevi guy and a Yasur girl will go home—at the same night. I wish could watch today's episode, but schedules overlap, and I have to catch a 2 o'clock appointment. I'll try to catch the Sunday broadcast if I can. Guiness tidbit (2004): Most base hits in an MLB season The most base hits in a Major League Baseball season is 257 by George Sisler (USA) playing for the St. Louis Browns in 1920.Well, wherever Sisler is right now, he better kiss his record goodbye sooner or later. As of this writing, Ichiro (of the Seattle Mariners) had 256 and still counting! But not if the Texas Rangers would have it their way tomorrow. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shots: If Ichiro were a girl, would he do this... or this... or this just to get 258 base hits? Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at 04:10 p.m.) The two benchmarks passed last week, and after finding some spyware and some Trojan horses in my computer, nothing major happened and my laptop is still OK.... And using the the Chamber's Wordgames Wizard Site, I finally finished the whole SOWPODS list that I started last June. I tried to throw in the towel twice but I got all 156 searches, surpassing even the S's. Now I know why S's are hard and longit's the most used letter in the English alphabet. The list is now at Timwi's site at http://www.lionking.net/~timwi under the programs page. It should be used on his Scrabble program. In last Wednesday's Amazing Race, first scaled the heights of a bridge in Auckland, New Zealand doing the Road Block before flying to my part of the world, THE PHILIPPINES. There before the teams assembled the decorations to their jeepneys, a team finally made a move to Yield the dreaded Colin & Christie. Once they found the giant duck, they looked for clues under the mud while PLOWing in the Detour (rather than herding some FOWL). Colin & Christie weren't eliminated at the Pit Stop in Manila, but they were stripped of their money. Here is the leaderboard as of the end of last Wednesday's episode:
Tomorrow, it's crunchtime as Nicole breaks down, Christie goes tough, and one team goes to the Finish Line want win a million bucks. That's tomorrow! Yesterday, The Amazing Race got an Emmy for Best Reality Competition Program. Considering the competition (Survivor, The Apprentice, American Idol, and Last Comic Standing, which I haven't seen), it's an achievement getting it for the second time. Speaking of Survivor... Last Friday, Survivor: Vanuatu finally began. Back in the Amazon, the tribes were separated into men and women because of the origin of the term "Amazon" to mean "woman warrior." Now, this same configuration looms. That's because when the native welcomed the Survivors, the ceremonies were focused on the men. Considering there are 18 instead of 16. The male tribe are called the Lopevi Tribe (wearing red) and female tribe the Yasur Tribe (named after the volcano; wearing yellow). I have some early favorites. In Lopevi, Sergeant Lea and Chad are my faves. Lea (read: Lee) is a drill sergeant and I think he can make a good leader. Chad is a sentimental one because he has a prosthetic foot. In Yasur, I'm rooting for Scout. I hope she does what her name denotes. Yasur won the immunity challenge (and a piece of flint) because Lopevi's Chris failed to cross the balance beam completely. So he's the most probable to be voted off. But because of the generation gap, it was Brook who was voted off. The game has finally started. But how would you negotiate 39 days with 18 survivors (the same number of those in the All-Stars)? This I'll got to see. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Lanhua... look! Isn't that Chip & Kim? Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 03:19 p.m.) Today is my benchmark if my computer fouls up. If I manage to post my entry tody using my own laptop, then so far so good. But if my computer doesn't foul up on September 16, which was exactly when my laptop's first hard disk (5GB) suddenly had errors last year, then that'll be better. There is still some quirks like new pop-ups and a file that doesn't come off, but they're still nothing major. I'll tell you if these two date came without major incident. In last Wednesday's Amazing Race, the teams fled India and flew to New Zealand. After squabbling some tickets back in Kolkata and scrambling for connections in Bangkok, teams found the Yield. After nobody decided to use the Yield, they chose on Detour either ending up Clean (after some sledging) or Dirty (after searching through some mud). After that, at team members rode on Zorbs! But the KK Twins didn't make the pit stop on time and they were eliminated. Here is the leaderboard as of the end of last Wednesday's episode:
Tomorrow, Chip surmounts his fear of heights. Colin and Christie finally losing it. And somebody's gonna be Yielded! Where to next? To my part of the world, the Philippines. But let's wait till tomorrow! What's more, Survivor: Vanuatu Islands of Fire will start this Friday afternoon. Yahoo! And the fifth edition of The Amazing Race wasn't finished yet, but the sixth will start in a few weeks. I fill in you in the details once I'm done. Using the the Chamber's Wordgames Wizard Site, I finished the C's and I'm now currently on the S's. It took almost the half last Saturday because of gathering the S's. I've finished checking and adding the 10-letter S-words and 11-letter ones just yesterday. If I keep this up (and if my computer gets through this), I might finish the entire two-sided SOWPODS list before the week ends. Twenty-five letters down; one to go. Or should I say, 152 searches down; 4 searches to go. Where would I go from here once I'm done? Unless something really bad happens (I hope not), I don't know. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Lanhua tells a story I don't want to hear it. Ask Millefeuille and General Walcott. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 11:42 a.m.) Welcome to the new Pale Green edition of my blog, honoring my favorite team in the Amazing Race 5, Charla the dwarf and her tall cousin Mirna. Even though they're eliminated in the Race as of two weeks ago, I still love their charm and determination to win. (Represented by the 2 of Spades at the upper right corner of this blog.) What's more, I recently signed up for Photobucket which now houses most of the images for the blog itself. I still use Ripway for the images that I include in the entries. But Photobucket has a bigger bandwidth quota for its free users, so I divided the load so my Ripway account won't be burdened so much. If you want to know my past entries written in my Moccasin edition, go to the archives. Speaking of the Amazing Race... In last Wednesday's Amazing Race, the teams went first to water paark in Dubai called Wild Wadi and slid down a slide, only find out that they have to go to Kolkata (a.k.a. Calcutta). Nobody Yielded once there and everybody though somebody went for the head-shaving Fast Forward. They tried to make 20 well-done mud bricks. After some troubles in the train station (a la Tangerine Team), everybody went for the Heavy (taxi) But Short (distance) Detour rather than the Light (garland) But Long (way) one. Brandon & Nicole tried to do the Fast Forward but backed out. No it's their turn to be stripped of their moolah. Here is the leaderboard as of the end of last Wednesday's episode:
Tomorrow, the twins have trouble in the airport. Christie wants more respect from Colin. And Bowling Moms are riding Zorb balls! Where to next? Looks like out of India, but we don't know. But let's wait till tomorrow! Using the the Chamber's Wordgames Wizard Site, I finally got past the P's and just picked up the C's yesterday. If I'll keep this up, I'll finish this ans the S's on schedule. But I expect the search for the S's to be worse than P's and C's. Each search cost me three to fours of my time! Twenty-four letters down; two to go. Or should I say, 144 searches down; 12 searches to go. Earlier last week, I finally solved my IE pop-up problem (a window pops up every second time I close IE) because of some suspicious program. But still, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope that my current hard disk doesn't foul up come September 16. Meanwhile, because that I'm so preoccupied with Mermaid Melody that everything else, including my two websites, are taken to the back seat. But I'll try to take attention to them whenever I can. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: A gift. Ja ne wa! |
